Volunteers

VOLUNTEER

There are many ways to volunteer with the USTA. In Texas, we encourage those interested to contact their local CTA (Community Tennis Association). There are also volunteer opportunities at the state and national level within the USTA. To offer your expertise to the Texas Section, please print out the following form and mail it to us.

USTA Texas Strategic Plan

Committee Members

• Assist with planning, promotion and implementation of USTA programs
• Attend Committee Meetings
• Assist in developing goals and measure success
• Perform tasks assigned by Chair

Opportunities available in the following areas (complete list)
• Leagues
• Community Tennis – includes CTA Development, Collegiate, Adaptive and Wheelchair Tennis
• Junior, Adult and Senior Competition, including Sport Science
• Officials
• Recreational Tennis – includes Junior Team Tennis and Schools Tennis
• Diversity – includes NJTL and Schools
• Marketing and Membership
• Budget development
• Volunteer Development

Committee Chairpersons
• Work with staff liaison and responsible officer to manage the Committee including meeting schedule, agendas and budget issues
• Lead meetings
• Lead Committee in defining goals and measure success
• Represent the Committee to the Executive Committee 
• Submit changes to regulations (leagues, competition, bylaws and budget)
• Attend Annual and Semi Annual Meetings
• Prepare reports as directed by the President

Appointment to Committees is for a two-year term. The incoming President
appoints volunteers on the odd year. Committee work averages between 10-15 hours per month but varies with position, committee and time of year.
