Global rule change for 10 and Under tennis to take effect in US on Jan. 1


The United States Tennis Association (USTA) announced that on January 1, 2012 the rules of tennis officially will be changed and require that 10 and Under Tennis tournaments be played utilizing smaller, lighter racquets and lower-bouncing balls on smaller courts. The change was adopted by the USTA in the summer of 2010. Read More
 

10 and Under Tennis Rule Change takes effect January 1, 2012


The rules of tennis are officially changing on Jan. 1, 2012, with the implementation of 10 and Under Tennis and the QuickStart Tennis play format as the official play format for all USTA and ITF-sanctioned tournaments for kids 10 and under. The rule change was adopted by the USTA and the ITF in the summer of 2010. Read More
 

Krueger Advances to 2nd Round at 2011 Orange Bowl

Mitchell Krueger, a 17-year-old from Aledo, Texas advanced to the second round of the 2011 Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships on Tuesday via a 6-3, 6-3, victory over Israeli Or Ram-Harel at the Frank Veltri Tennis Center in Plantation, Fla. Krueger, the tournament’s No. 4 seed, was broken in the opening game but was able to pick up his play, seamlessly handling Ram-Harel’s speed and displaying a lot of poise as he routinely won the match’s pivotal points. Krueger leads Americans at Orange Bowl Invite


Mitchell Krueger of Aledo, Texas, and Alexios Halebian of Glendale, Calif., will lead the American contingent at the 2011 Orange Bowl International Tennis Championships.
