2012 Polar Brrr Nothing But Doubles Tournament

February 2, 2012 04:11 PM

The Capital Area Tennis Association (CATA) held a Rally for the Cure at the Courtyard Tennis Club and Lost Creek Country Club. CATA is donating part of the entry fee to the Rally for the Cure cause, and estimated its contribution at $1,200.

Players played the Compass Draw format that guaranteed at least three matches over the course of the Jan. 25, 2012 weekend.  This allowed a minimum of three matches but some players played six, so a lot of tennis was played in one weekend!

The tournament drew players from around the state as well as Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, New York, and Rhode Island.  Fun was had by all as players were given pink long-sleeved t-shirts, played with pink balls and received a Rally for the Cure pin!  Winners and Finalists received pink POLAR water bottles all for a great cause.

CATA also held a Rally for the Cure event on Feb. 4 at Barton Creek Country Club along with the UT Women’s Tennis Team. For more information contact Kim Grant at the Capital Area Tennis Association at kim@austintennis.org or for more information about CATA go to www.austintennis.org

Thanks to all the participants for your support and love of the sport of tennis.
