2012 Leagues Texas Super Senior Plus Sectional

Our Super Senior league players 70 and older battled at the 2012 Texas Super Senior Plus Sectional Championships held in Austin, Texas from Nov. 2-4. Local winners gathered to play for the state title in a three doubles format. Teams from Austin, Fort Worth, and NETX took home USTA Texas Super Senior Plus titles.
 
 
 
NETX defeated Fort Worth 2-1 on their way to the 2012 Texas Section Super Senior Plus 6.0 Ladies Championship. The NETX team captained by Patsy Hopkins includes Bess Arnold, Sarah Barber, Sue Deakins, Jane Dimambro, Linda Dominy, Colleen Fuston, Patricia Garner, Diane Mendenhall, Jean Seymour and Sherry Tyra.
 
 
 
TEAMS: *Flight winners
 
Flight 1: *Fort Worth, Midland, Houston, and NETX
Flight 2: *Austin, College Station, Dallas, and San Antonio
 
Austin defeated Fort Worth 2-1 on their way to the 2012 Texas Section Super Senior Plus 7.0 Ladies Championship. Fort Worth went 3-0 in its flight while Austin edged out College Station to win its flight.
 
The Austin team playing out of the Sun City Texas Tennis Association is captained by Betty Gresham and includes Linda Atlee, Carol Baker, Ann Bellmaine, Legene Gay, Barbara Hallmark, Lola Keck, Glenda Marshall, Elizabeth Merrick and Barbara Peterson.
 
  
 
Fort Worth went undefeated at 4-0 outlasting NETX on their way to the 2012 Texas Section Super Senior Plus 8.0 Ladies Championship. The Fort Worth team playing out of the Bayard Friedman Tennis Center is captained by Glenda Allen and includes Delores Ballard, Gayle Howington, Helga Lukacsy, Myra Robinson and Betty Sue Wheeler.
 
  
 
Austin went undefeated with a perfect 4-0 record to win the 2012 Texas Section Super Senior Plus 7.0 Men’s Championship.
 
The Austin team captained by Robert Taylor includes Ronnie Abbott, Wesley Banner, Charles Coakley, Jack Davis, Lanny Ereckson, George Hunter, Paul Milot, Harold Steele and Gleen Yeager.
 
 
 
Fort Worth went undefeated with a perfect 5-0 team record and 11-4 individual score on their way to the 2012 Texas Section Super Senior Plus 8.0 Men’s Championship. Houston finished second at 4-1 followed by San Antonio.
 
The Fort Worth team captained by George Meyer includes Wayne Downhour, David Hurt, Ken Jefferies, Ronald Luttrall, Ron Marshall, Paul Oliver, Olin Weiss and Edward Wylie.
